As we head into the final weeks of our program, we will be cooking as much as possible. Students will be making cheesy corn dogs, made with a homemade cornmeal biscuit dough. There is also a cookie demo to prepare students for the Halloween baking lab next week.
Chicken safety week is here! Students will review the basics of food safety, focusing on handling raw chicken safely. There will be a demo class followed by a cooking lab, making chicken fajitas! Each kitchen will make one batch of chicken, peppers and onions seasoned with a delicious spice mixture made by Mrs. Luthin. The focus for this lab is on food safety principles.
No school Friday, Pro-D day. No school Monday - Thanksgiving Day
This week students are making blueberry pancakes! The recipes uses buttermilk and we will be using our own homemade version to show how easy it is to substitute ingredients using what is readily available at home.
