This week students will customize a cookie recipe after learning about the science behind cookie making. There will also be a food waste lesson to learn more about how food waste occurs along the food supply chain and steps that can be taken at home and school to reduce personal food waste.
For our second week of classes we will continue to review kitchen tasks and responsibilities in preparation of our first cooking lab on Friday. Students will be making Italian soda with homemade fruit syrup.
Students with allergies/dietary restrictions and new students to RMS must return the signed welcome letter before our first cooking lab. Failure to return this form will result in alternate ingredients not being available. See the previous post for a copy of the letter. Parents/guardians can also email me directly with requests for special ingredients. |
